“UFC Fight Night 25: Shields vs. Ellenberger” Live Play-by-Play results from New Orleans

Hello fellow Fight Nerds, Tonight we have UFC fight night 25: Shields VS. Ellenberger or known as “Battle on the Bayou.”  So we can all guess where it is taking place – that’s right New Orleans!  Tonight, Fight Nerd Correspondent Joel Procell will be doing a play by play for the main card of this event.

For the main card, we start off with middleweight melt down, Alan “The Talent” Belcher (15-5) vs. Jason “The Athlete” MacDonald (26-14).  Followed by a stinging fight by the feather weights.   Jonathan Brookins (13-3)  vs. Erik “The new Breed” Koch (12-1).  This should be and exciting fight with both of these boys looking to move up in the ranking.  Will Brookins strikings knock out Koch’s submission genius?  We shall see.

After that, we have another Middle weight brawl.  Court “The Crusher” McGee vs. Dongi (12-1) “The Ox” Yang (10-1)  Both of these fighters are evenly matched, and both are very well rounded, I can’t wait to see if this match ends on its feet or in the matt, either way it should be an exciting fight.  And last and certainly not least, the fight everyone will be waiting for, the main even in a Welterweight showdown, Jake “The Juggernaut” Ellenberger  (25-5) vs. Jake Shields (26-5-1). Shields just lost his father earlier this month, and while many would have dropped out of this bout, Shields has pushed on. Will the weight of this unfortunate event be too much for Shields or will he overcome it to defeat a very-game Jake Ellenberger?

Hit the jump for play by play from the main card of this show, updated after each bout!
