Trailer for “Never Back Down 2: The Beatdown”

Heads up, MMA movie fanatics, we have another film coming out soon! “Never Back Down 2: The Beatdown” is the sequel to the polarizing “Never Back Down”, which in its own way was not a bad movie and pretty watchable in its genre, but far from a great film. The sequel stars Michael Jai White (most recently in the nerd-favorite “Mortal Kombat: Legacy” series as Jax) playing the trainer “with a past”, and also features MMA fighters like Lyoto Machida, Todd Duffee, Eddie Bravo and Scott Epstein. It also stars some white kids who don’t get a name credit in the trailer, but we do know that one of them gets some action and I don’t just mean inside the cage (nudge nudge wink wink).

According to IMDB, the plot is about “Four fighters from different backgrounds come together to train under an ex-MMA rising star and then ultimately have to fight each other and the traitor in their midst.” This trailer is full of spinning moves, a guy doing a cartwheel, another dude getting powerbombed and lots of unnecessary flipping around. I know I should not rush to judgements but this just screams “Step Up” but with more punching and kicking. The film is set for a release this June in theaters nationwide, but you don’t have to wait until then to start complaining about how bad this trailer looks! You can also now buy “Never Back Down 2: The Beatdown” from Amazon.com at this link here and watch it from the comfort of your home!

PS, sorry that this video goes past the borders of my site, there is no version under 600 pixels wide yet.
