Tim Sylvia off to Japan for “Dynamite 2009!!”
According to Five Ounces of Pain, former UFC heavyweight champ Tim Sylvia will be joining the ranks of FEG, at least for one night, at their annual year end show, “Dynamite!! 2009” which will be taking place on December 31 from the Saitama Arena in Saitama, Japan, and airing live in the United States on HDNet.
FEG President Sadaharu Tanigawa and DREAM Event Producer Keiichi Sasahara recently released a sneak peak at the roster they are currently working on that includes fighters such as Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto, Bob Sapp, Tim Sylvia, Kazushi Sakuraba, Kiyoshi Tamura, Hayato “Mach” Sakurai, Hideo Tokoro and Hong Man Choi.
While no match-ups have been confirmed at this time for the previously confirmed participants, announcements of their specific bouts are expected to roll out shortly (or in Japanese terms, two days before the event is set to happen).
At this time the current fights that have been confirmed for the are Shinya Aoki vs. Tatsuya Kawajiri for the DREAM lightweight crown; Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou vs. Ikuhisa Minowa in the Super Hulk Tournament Final (maybe we will see big Tim in a reserve match for this tournament, after the fact); and a K-1 rules bout between Masato Kobayashi and the winner of this year’s K-1 World Max Championship.
