Review of Jaco Resurgence Fight Shorts
Review of Jaco Resurgence Fight ShortsBY JEFF SIMS

Per Manufacturer-
•Ultra-durable STR-X™ fabric that stretches effortlessly in all directions and wicks perspiration rapidly. This fabric was specifically developed to provide the technical needs that are essential in MMA: durability, exceptional 4-way stretch, breathability, moisture wicking and comfort.
•Patent-pending compression waist-tightening system that can be tightened without creating “scrunching or cinching” around the waist while providing a comfortable, no-slip fit. This system provides a compression style fit internally to the garment that allows the external look of the product to remain unchanged.
•Internal stretch pocket located at the bottom of the shorts’ leg opening so that you don’t have to untie your shorts every time you want to stow your mouthguard. This compression style pocket is designed to hold the mouthguard (or locker key) so that it does not “flop” around while working out.
•Fly backing panel construction to prevent rubbing and chafing from the fly’s hook and loop material.
•Raised “Tenacity” Icon Logo on the rear, center of waistband (patent-pending).

First Thoughts- These shorts were shipped out very fast and arrived in a box. Once out of the box they are in their own plastic bag. I was instantly pleased with how they looked. I could not wait to get them out and start training in them.
Fit and Finish- 4 out of 5 stars Once out of the bag the first thing that I noticed about them is the feel of the material. It is unlike anything other out there. It is very soft and almost feels like the entire fight short is one giant stretch panel. I got a 30 in these and this is where I ran into a bit of a problem. These shorts were very hard to get on because of how the closure system works. They do not have standard closure system at all and while I like it and it works very well it makes the shorts smaller around the waist when putting them on. Needless to say I had to go for a 32 in these which once I received fits perfectly.
The closure system is hard to describe so I included plenty of pictures so you can see what it looks like but it does work very well. Their is some raised logos on the inside The shorts are shorter then most shorts and fall just above the knee cap. Like I mentioned before they do not have any stretch panel and do not need one as the entire pair of shorts feel like a stretch panel. They do have a split seam but it is shorter then most and also have a small pocket at the bottom of one of the legs. All but the very back logo is screen printed which made me nervous but we will see how they hold up over time. While wearing these shorts, they are very light weight, almost to the point of forgetting you have them on. Once you get the correct size these shorts are one of the best.

Stand up- 5 out of 5 stars These shorts are amazing for stand up. They move very well and do not ride up or shift at all due to the closure system and the raised logos on the inside of the waistband. I had no problem with any sort of technique and was very impressed at how much they stretched. I would say for stand up these are the best shorts I have used.

Ground- 4 out of 5 stars These shorts work very well on the ground. They did not shift around my waist at all and had a huge range of motion. The legs did ride up a little but most shorts that have split seams do that and it was not annoying or uncomfortable. I had no problem with any sort of technique and these shorts performed very well on the ground.

Value- 5 out of 5 stars These shorts cost around $60 which is on the upper end of shorts and I would say that they are well worth it. I dealt directly with Jaco and their customer service was great and shipping was very fast. Worth every penny.
Pros-
-Unique Closure System
-Very Comfortable
-Material
-Overall Construction
Cons-
-Screen Printed Logos
-Sizing
Overall- 4 out of 5 stars I highly recommend getting a pair of these shorts. They are some of the best I have ever used and the material of the shorts is like none other. The only reason these shorts did not get an overall 5 star rating is due to the sizing issues. Once you get the sizing down they are a great pair of shorts. Make sure to pick them up.

I’d recently actually got myself a pair 2 weeks ago (With the Filpino flag on the side) I got used to it really fast. I figured out the way to tighten it and up i go. Great for all around Striking and grappling.
