Mark Munoz tweets images of successful elbow surgery

UFC Middleweight fighter, Mark Munoz posted a few tweets letting fans know his elbow surgery has gone off without a hitch. According to the fighter’s update, 24 bone spurs were removed and shaven down out of his elbow. Apparently, the injury had been building up overtime, but the spurs became dislodged recently in training and entered his joint area.

Mark was originally scheduled to headline a bout vs Chael Sonnen at “UFC on Fox 2″, for the number one contender spot in the UFC Middleweight division. Chael is now set to face Michael Bisping for the chance at the title, and has opened as a heavy favorite for the Chicago match up. As a result, Demian Maia is now facing undefeated Middleweight, Chris Weidman. There have been no estimates made by the fighter on how soon he will be returning to the octagon, and where this layoff now puts him in the title picture.
