Last night in Atlantic City, NJ, Kurt Pellegrino announced his retirement in front of a hometown crowd at Bellator 59.
At the post-fight press conference, Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney said that he would do his best to bring Kurt back into the octagon to fight again. Kurt Pellegrino gave his farewell speech afterwards, stating, “This isn’t the way I wanted it to end,” Pellegrino said in the post-fight press conference. “You know, walking up the stairs I wanted to honestly tell you that you guys would never ever ever see me fight again unless you’re watching old tapes. It’s just getting a little hard. I missed my daughter’s first words, which were ‘dad,’ preparing for this fight.”
The above video is the full fifteen minutes of Pellegrino’s speech, as well as answering questions from the members of the press, and asking his wife if he can fight again.
NOTE: The video got weird on me, and the first eight seconds are black. Just keep watching, it returns to normal pretty quickly.
