Images surface of Nogueira’s broken arm
UFC officials tweeted an x-ray of former UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueria’s broken arm, which was a result of his match up against Former UFC Heavyweight Champion, Frank Mir, at UFC 140.
Nogueria had Frank Mir in trouble early in the round with a flurry of punches, which had Mir on wobbly legs. The tides changed quickly after Nogueria unsuccessfully dropped to a guillotine, and was reversed after a hard fought scramble into a Kimura. Replays show Nogueria tapping only a split second before the brutal break.
Question are now being ask about the future of “Big Nog”, as his record moves to 4 -3 within the cage. UFC President Dana White had approached the former Pride Heavyweight Champion about retirement in the past, but talks were put on hold after Nogueria’s knock out victory of Brandan Schaub at UFC 134.
At age 35, a significant amount of time away from the cage could prove to be a major problem for the aging legend. There is no time fram currently being given for his recovery and White has mentioned that Nogueria went to Los Angeles Sunday to look into surgical repair. The extent of his shoulder and elbow damage is still unknown.

I think it’s about time for the GREAT BIG NOG to hang it up. Still a great fighter but with the amount of time off he is going to need to heal properly I dont see a lot in his future. He’s getting up there and will go down as one of the best. Whatever the choice he makes what fun we all had watching him!
