GSP injured, Condit VS Diaz booked for interim title fight

According to a tweet from Dana White, Georges St. Pierre is out of action for nearly a year, and will be unable to defend his belt against the former Strikeforce Champion, Nick Diaz.

“GSP blown acl will be out for 10 mos. Now Condit vs Diaz for the interim welterweight title on Feb 4th in Las Vegas!!” DW tweeted, en route to the UFC on Fox 2 press conference in Chicago.

GSP was scheduled to fight Diaz at UFC 143 in Vegas in what would have been an amazing super fight. Instead, we will have to wait awhile to see what is next for the injured champ. Condit was originally slated to battle Josh Koscheck at that same event, but was the lucky fellow who got promoted to the title match out of those two. No announcement has been made yet for who Koscheck will fight in lieu of Condit.

Condit VS Diaz for the interim UFC welterweight title, the first time in years that GSP has not been in a UFC title fight. 2012 really is the apocalypse!
