“Fedor will fight for M-1 on Showtime in the fall” says Fedor’s management
We all heard earlier this week that Fedor Emelianenko would not be retiring and would be fighting again sooner than later. Now, we have a few prospective opponent’s for the Russian cyborg (who clearly needs to upgrade his OS to something better these days).
Fedor’s manager Vadim Finkelchtein gave us the first hint of Fedor’s official return in an interview with Championat.com. “There are a lot of potential opponents for him. Personally, I’d like to see him face one of the greatest fighters of the best times from PRIDE.” Vadim said, “I hope that it is an interesting and competitive opponent, such as Kevin Randleman. In any case, we’ll choose a worthy and respected fighter in the world.” Vadim also believes that Fedor still has a good five years in him before they even begin to contemplate retirement, even though Fedor himself has vocalized his urge to hang up the gloves after a few recent bouts.
Randleman recently retired after his last loss in the ring. Meanwhile, according to Josh Gross on Twitter, two other opponents were being discussed. “I’ve heard Mike Whitehead and Travis Wiuff as potential opponents for Fedor Emelianenko in Nov. M-1 is reaching out to managers this week.” Either of these three fighters would be an acceptable fight for Fedor, considering he is now facing a three-fight losing streak and needs to bounce back against a fighter with a name.
Who do you think should be next on Fedor’s list, or should he call it quits for good?

Hopefully we will see Fedor in Bellator season six.
