Fedor photo caption contest – and the winner is…

It’s time to reveal who won the signed photo of Fedor Emelianenko in our caption contest!

I got a whopping amount of responses for this caption contest, and there were a lot of good entries making this hard to pick just one winner. But sadly, there is only one Fedor photo, so before I announce the grand champ, here are the three runners-up that made me chuckle:

Kevin Anderson – On the next episode of “How to Catch a Predator”, Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva seduces Fedor Emelianenko into following him back to Brazil.

PuBear- I got the booger, it’s ok, he’s good for rd 3 now.

Mike Davis – “Repeat after me, we did not use mind control……”

But at the end of the day, one comment stood out for its creativity and reference to classic American cinema, giving it the chance to be the first place winner:

BuddyLee – ANTONIO: Fedor…..my career’s getting ready to leave the ground, if you’re not on it, you’re gonna regret it, maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but SOON, and for the rest of your life.”
FEDOR: What about….
ANTONIO: Shhhhh…. you’ll always have PRIDE and M-1.

So to Buddy Lee, whose punctuation I had to correct from the original entry but in spite of that still earned this top spot, I will be contacting you soon to get your address and mail you your Fedor photo, as well as a few other Fight Nerd goodies! And here is a shout-out to the fine folks at M-1 Global for supplying the signed Fedor pic, who return to America on Friday, March 25, live on Showtime for M-1 Challenge XXIV, headlined by Artiom Damkovsky defending his M-1 Challenge Lightweight championship against Jose Figueroa, and Tyson Jeffries and Magomed Sultanakhmedov battling for the vacant Middleweight title!
