Did Randy Couture retire via twitter?

Randy Couture’s MMA future has been in question from his fans, reporters and even Randy himself. No one is quite sure what is next for him. Couture recently stated that he has a few fights left in him, looking for some big fights but not necessarily ones relevant to rankings or the title scene (in other words, guys like James Toney). Tonight on his twitter account, Randy might have set all of us straight and announced his retirement on a social networking site.

Randy’s twitter, which also revealed two weeks ago that he was an honorary coach for something called Ducks VS Beavers (which I now want to know more about), had posted the message at about 8:40 PM EST. The short message said, ” Thanks to everybody who’s been tweeting about seeing my fights I must have missed the memo I think I’m at the end of it Yall . It’s time.”

I am still waiting for some confirmation on this, namely in the form of me tweeting back to Randy. This is the legit Randy Couture twitter, and unless he was hacked into (which could happen), “The Natural” may have just hung up the gloves for good via twitter. If this is true, we wish Randy good luck in his future endeavors and are sure this is not the last we have seen of him in the MMA world, but the end of him putting on the 4 ounce gloves.
