Dave Branch added to Shark Fights 15
UFC and Bellator FC veteran, and native of New Jersey, Dave Branch is headed to New Mexico to fight at “Shark Fights 15″ in the co-main event.
Branch will be facing Jeremy May on May 27 at the Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho, New Mexico according to Shark Fight officials. May, a contestant on the seventh season of “The Ultimate Fighter” will meet Branch at 185 lbs. Dave “The Tree” Branch is as skilled on the ground as he is on his feet, and earned his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under the tutelage of MMA veteran, Renzo Gracie. In additional to mixed martial arts, Branch has also competed in (and won) Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu titles in nationwide competitions. Branch is coming off of a second round loss to Rousimar Palhares at UFC Live: Sanchez vs. Kampmann. This is Branch’s first post UFC bout and he plans to make a statement by quickly defeating the controversial Jeremy May.
Jeremy “The BAMF” May (9-7-0), is a submission specialist best known for his stint on The Ultimate Fighter TUF7 series. May made a lasting impression on viewers as one of the most controversial contenders in the house. During the series, May rooted against different fighters, pulled a ‘fake drinking’ stunt and also tried to get Jesse “JT Money” Taylor into a fight, which would have jeopardized Taylor’s shot in the semifinals. Love him or hate him, May consistently delivers exciting fight action and is determined to add another notable win to his record on May 27. May has gone 3-1 since 2010, his only loss in that time coming against Murilo “Ninja” Rua.
Headlining the event is UFC veteran Chris Camozzi meeting Elite XC and Strikeforce veteran Joey Villasenor, and will be supplemented by ten other fights.
