Our last bit of coverage from this weekend’s UFC on Fox 2 event in Chicago is this video from the post-fight press conference. Featuring Rashad Evans, Phil Davis, Chael Sonnen, Michael Bisping, Lavar Johnson, and Mike Russow, Fight Nerd reporter Hiroko Yamamura snuck in a few questions during this event to rep the site the right way. So, enjoy this 40-minute long uncut and uncensored video and hear what these warriors had to say about their performances and future in the company!

Chael Sonnen put on quite the show at the UFC on Fox 2 press workouts, starting his routine by warming up with some fancy flips around the ring. Sonnen, who spoke with us earlier in the day about his fight at UFC on Fox 2 against Bisping, as well as his thoughts on Dan Henderson, also hit some pads, showed off his grappling skills, and smacked away at a speed bag to conclude his workout. In this installment, we get a first-hand look at the new Pride FC mode, which allows players to relive the glory days of the best damn MMA company ever! Continuing this epic day full of “UFC Undisputed 3″ insider info, here is part three of the demo I sat through, which goes over the updated career mode.

In this video, you will learn that there are no more CG cut scenes, but all specially edited videos of actual licensed UFC footage integrated into the game. You also get a chance to see how the career mode works, as well as the new training methods and how you put together the best fighter in the game, including buying sparring partners as you grow and how this game emphasizes fighting over training as opposed to the previous games.

This past weekend in Washington DC, UFC Live on Versus 6 went down as another memorable MMA event on cable TV. Fight Nerd photographer John C. Zielinski was in the house shooting us this excellent photo gallery from the show, and stuck around afterwards to film the post-fight press conference. This past Saturday evening from The Wells Fargo Center in Denver, Colorado, UFC 135 went down and saw Jon Jones defend his UFC light-heavyweight title in dominant fashion against Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. After the show, the company held their usual post-fight press conference, which featured UFC president Dana White, Jon Jones, Quinton Jackson, Nate Diaz, and Mark Hunt breaking down their fights and discussing their future in the organization.

Top Rank Promotions held a press conference in New York City recently to announce the rematch between Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito for the WBA Super Welterweight title, to take place December 3rd from Madison Square Garden. Promoter Bob Arum (and perennial hater of MMA) took center stage, along with both Cotto and Margarito, as well as Nonito Donaire and Omar Narvaez who will be fighting Oct. 22 at MSG as well. Welcome to the first episode of what I hope to be a new series on TheFightNerd.com, “Red Corner VS Blue Corner”. This series will bring you behind the scenes and inside the locker rooms during live MMA events, and we are kicking things off with the August 20th edition of Bellator FC.

We shadowed former UFC Heavyweight Champion Ricco Rodriguez (who would meet Seth Petruzelli later in the event) in one room, and Ryan Quinn and Dan “Cosmo” Cramer from American Top Team in another room as they prepared for their respective fights on the card. Now you can see what it’s like to get ready for a match moments before it happens, and how each of these warriors “flip the switch” to go from what you see in interviews and in the gym, into what they become when they step into the cage.

Finally, the last video from “The Ultimate Absolute” in New York City on July 30. Yes, it took me two weeks to get all the vids up, but they’re big files since these matches are all pretty long, and this one is no exception.

Out of 16 grapplers that started, only two made it to the finals – Andre Galvao and Rustam Chsiey. The two battled for the duration of a full ten-minute period with no clear winner according to the judges. This led to an overtime round that still gave no man a clear advantage over the other, ending with a sudden death double-overtime match that ended with Galvao taking the victory due to “aggressiveness”.

Previously, Andre Galvao defeated Antonio Neto to advance forward, while on the other side Rustam Chsiey fought David Ramos to a decision, then Chsiey went the distance with Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu on his way to the finals against Andre Galvao, who defeated Vinny Magalhaes to earn his spot in the finals as well.

Earlier in the tournament, Daniel Gracie tapped out Abmar Barbosa by armbar, only to be submitted in the next round by M-1 Global Light Heavyweight Champion Vinny Magalhaes with a painful banana-split submission.

Plans are expected to be revealed soon for a follow-up tournament, and I look forward to checking out another “Ultimate Absolute”!
