Boxing historian Bert Sugar on Tyson, Klitschko’s, Hopkins, and MMA

“The problem was Mike Tyson always had trouble with bigger men. Even fighters like Bud Green, “Bonecrusher”, he had trouble with them whether he wanted to or not. He would have had great trouble with Lennox Lewis, particularly since he maximized his shortness by crouching, and he couldn’t fight inside so the guy would pick him apart like Buster Douglas.” – Bert Sugar on if Tyson fought Lennox Lewis earlier in his career

Fight Nerd correspondent Syl Peterkin caught up with world-famous boxing historian and writer Bert Sugar at a press conference in New York City and discussed his opinion on the Klitschko brothers and heavyweight boxing, thinking fighters VS active fighters, and what could have happened if Mike Tyson fought Lennox Lewis a decade earlier than when they met in the ring. We also get his opinion on Bernard Hopkins, Roy Jones Jr., and his thoughts on MMA.
